Learn the Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) process Dr. Breus uses on major national television health programs to fix people’s sleep.

Do you ever lay awake in bed wondering if you’ll ever fall asleep? Or, do you wake up in the middle of the night and have a hard time going back to sleep? Is it ever hard getting your mind to stop going when you try to sleep?

If so, I’m about to change your sleep and your life for good!

If you answered yes, you are not alone.

Nearly 40 million Americans experience sleep issues every day, another 20 million experience sleep issues on an irregular basis. That means about 20% of Americans are walking around on a daily basis lacking proper sleep to function through no fault of their own.

Over the next few minutes, I’m going to change how you think about sleep and HOW you sleep.

But the big question you have right now is: Who am I and why should you listen to me about sleep?

I’m Dr. Michael Breus, let me tell you a bit about who I am before we talk about your sleep.

I’m a Clinical Psychologist and both a Diplomate of the American Board of Sleep Medicine and a Fellow of The American Academy of Sleep Medicine. I was one of the youngest people to have passed the Board at age 31 and, with my specialty in Sleep Disorders, am one of only 163 psychologists in the world with these credentials and distinction. I am on the clinical advisory board of The Dr. Oz Show and am a regular contributor on the show (30+ times) and was the sleep expert for WebMD for 15 years.

You may also have seen me on one of my hundreds of national media appearances include Dr. Oz, Oprah, Anderson Cooper, Fox and Friends, Rachel Ray, The Today Show, and so many more.

I’d like to take you on a bit of a deeper dive into whether or not the rest of this page applies to you. Do me a favor and …

How many of these symptoms apply to you?

  • I have difficulty falling asleep
  • I wake up one or more times during the night and take more than 20 minutes to fall back asleep
  • I don’t feel refreshed when I wake up in the morning
  • I wake up too early in the morning even if I go to bed late
  • I feel like I need to “catch up” on my sleep
  • I regularly experience sleeplessness
  • I can’t turn off my mind at night
  • I’m a worrier
  • I lie awake in bed for more than 45 minutes

If you marked even one of those symptoms you are likely experiencing diminished sleep and could benefit from learning how to control your sleep.

Learning how to control your sleep is easier than you think,
and most people don’t need a sleep doctor and a lab to do it.

Now I know that will sound a little funny coming from a sleep doctor, America’s Sleep Doctor in fact, but stick with me for a second.

For the past decade and a half I’ve been treating patients with sleep disorders and after treating thousands of patients personally I can tell you that the majority of the work is done at home, by the patient with take home guidance from me. In fact I’ve perfected this process so well that nearly anyone can do this themselves with a little help from me via video and worksheets. Other sleep doctors charge hundreds, even thousands of dollars to do what I’m about to teach you.

“In other words, what you need to know to diagnose and treat your sleep issues and correct them can be done in the comfort of your home and without multiple (or any) trips to the doctor.“
– Dr. Michael Breus

Only the most severe cases require a study in a sleep lab and the biggest majority of people that I treat don’t require drugs or are able to significantly reduce or even stop using drugs they’ve been previously prescribed to sleep.

You can take control of your sleep

As long as I’ve been a practicing sleep doctor, I’ve wanted to do one thing, help EVERYONE get a better night of sleep. Some people call me obsessed but I KNOW what happens to people when they feel unrested. They feel like they have lost some of their passion for living, their creativity, their drive, even mental function.

Sadly, MOST people live with poor sleep and being unrested because they tell themselves, “I’ve lived with this for so long, it’s just the way it is.”

It doesn’t have to be that way.

For the longest time I treated as many patients as I could. I talked to them about their friends and family and tried to get them to send them in to me. And, in large numbers they did but they all had the same story. “My son, daughter, friend, co-worker etc., needs this but they don’t have time to come in or they can’t afford it.”

The “no time” and “can’t afford it” argument drove me crazy. There had to be a way to address both.

So, I really looked at what I was doing and what was getting the best results and began working on creating a new way of helping. That’s when I realized that except for the most extreme cases (Narcolepsy and Sleep Apnea for example) I could give people the tools they needed to control their sleep right where they needed them the most and where they would have time … In their home. And, if I didn’t have to see them in an expensive lab full of equipment, I could solve the cost issue as well.

To say I was excited would be an understatement!

I got to work.

I spent over a year writing my book, the seminal work on Chronotype for regular people who just want to function at their best. And, I went to work on creating the at home program that we will do together. The result of all that work is:

The Dr. Breus Control Your Sleep Program

I know, it isn’t the wittiest name in the world but let’s not forget that I’m a doctor, not a salesman!

The Control Your Sleep Program is a complete, six-part program that will change the way you sleep.

  1. What is Sleep – Understanding sleep and how sleep works is a critical component of taking control of your sleep. In this section you’ll not only understand how sleep works but more importantly how YOUR sleep is working. In this section you’ll be acting as a research scientist with me. I will show you how to collect the right type of data to break down your sleepless behaviors. Don’t worry, it isn’t hard but it does take commitment to getting better on your part.
  2. Your New Personalized Bedtime and Power Down Hour – This is the first step of change in taking control of your sleep. You will use your personal data to determine your personal bedtime, not a-one-size-fits-all program that many try and pass off as accurate. You’ll be learning new techniques for getting ready to sleep. You will learn exactly how to time when YOU go to bed to maximize your opportunity for continuous, restorative sleep. You will also learn about how food effects your sleep and what the perfect bedtime snack can be! I will also give you my recipe for a tea that will help you calm down and relax before bed, like no other.
  3. Review Your Sleep Diary and Learn Progressive Muscle Relaxation – In this part of the program we will do a guided, comprehensive review of your sleep diary. I’ll also teach you how to do progressive muscle relaxation. Understanding how to do progressive muscle relaxation will exponentially increase your ability to fall asleep and sleep deeper. There is a specific process combined with everything else you are learning that makes this work. You’ll know exactly how to do it, when to do it and what to expect as you do it.
  4. Guided Imagery – Learning how to guide your mind to deeper levels of relaxation and tranquility predictively produces better, longer sleeping periods. This isn’t some cassette tape style program you’ve seen sold on late night TV. This guided imagery technique is a psychological process designed specifically to enhance your brain’s ability to power down and restore your body through sleep. My patients tell me that after they learn this technique that not only do they sleep better, it becomes one of their favorite times of the night. Also we will review your bedroom environment to learn more about how light, sound even your mattress effects your sleep.
  5. Feelings, Thoughts, and Actions Around Sleep – This is the piece that brings it all together. Using a modified version of a psychological process called Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) I have developed in my practice over the past 15 years, we will work through the underlying issues that have kept you from sleeping fully. You’ll learn how to manage meta behaviors by breaking them down into small behaviors that you can control. This technique is one of the most powerful psychology tools in use today and one of the most effective in breaking old habits and creating new, empowering behaviors that support you. I think you’ll be stunned by how effective this is (and once you learn it where else it may be helpful in your life).
  6. Maintenance – Like anything you do, practice improves performance. Staying on track is the key to long term success. Together we will walk through a long term maintenance plan that will allow you to keep fine tuning and creating more success. Sleep is for life and controlling your sleep is a lifetime process as well. It isn’t complicated or difficult but it will require that you take positive, proactive steps to sleep well the rest of your life. Through the maintenance phase you will develop “Unconscious Competence” and soon this will all be second nature to you, you will no longer think about it, you’ll just do it. It will be as natural as, well, sleeping.

I designed this program so anyone can do it. You can do it by yourself or with the person you sleep with. I’ve broken it into easy to understand lessons that combine both video and worksheets to make learning and implementing the material foolproof. The program does not take a lot of time, in fact most people can complete the work in between 15 minutes to under an hour a day. And, once you’ve done the work and know the material, the biggest majority of what you’ll be doing each day is leading you to sleep.

“As surprising as it may sound right now, you can wake up feeling great, restored, and refreshed.“
– Dr. Michael Breus

So what did I do about the price?

I thought long and hard about this. An hour with me is $350 plus the cost of any tests that we run, the average patient will spend at least $500 on the first visit.

I decided to cut that in half to $250 for the program but I felt like that still might be out of the reach of a lot of people who desperately need the material so I decided to reduce it again.

The first 100 people to try my program get a very special price

I’m dropping the price to $197.00, I feel like that is something anyone struggling with lack of sleep can afford. And it takes away the issue of price and time away from work, appointments and makes it easy for you to do exactly what you need to take control of your sleep in the comfort of your home., I’m going to sell a limited number of programs at this price. I may raise the price in the future (most people I’ve talked to think I should sell it for $397.00) I’ve put tremendous work into bringing this product to you so you can take control of your sleep in your own home without the costs associated with traditional in office treatment.

I’m also going to give you an important bonus:

Bonus — Office Hours

I’m going to have monthly Office Hours where you other program participants can call into a group conference and ask me any question you have about your sleep or the program. Please note, I cannot offer medical advice or diagnose sleep disorders on the phone. But short of that, I’ll help you perfect and refine the process so that it works perfectly for you. You’ll also benefit from hearing my answers to other people’s questions about the course. This is going to take you deep into really understanding how you can sleep better. My hourly rate is $350 per hour so depending on how many times you call in, these calls could be worth the price of the program alone.

When I saw that the “Control Your Sleep” course had office hours with Dr. Breuss included in them, I signed up right away and have not been disappointed. The combination of the lessons, doing the assignments (this is the hard part!), and then getting to ask Dr. Breuss questions in person is incredible. Dr. Breuss’s kindness, expertise, and personal encouragement has made all the difference in helping me get more consistent, quality sleep within just a couple of months. I am so grateful for this program!

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: I’m on sleeping medication, can I use this course?
A: Many people who are using sleep medication find that by following this program they are able to reduce or even stop using sleep medication. If you are under the care of a physician be sure to discuss what you are doing and how you might go about changing your prescription as you progress through the course successfully.

Q: I use a CPAP machine at night, can I use this program?
A: Definitely. Many people find that they are able to sleep even better and more soundly by using this program. Many also find that they are able to fall asleep faster and more predictably by following the program.

Q: I’ve heard that the more time I spend in bed the better chance I have of getting enough sleep, is that true?
A: While this would make logical sense, the more time I spend someplace the more likely I am do something. But think about it, does this really make sense? The more time you spend in the gym, do you exercise more? Maybe a little, but your body can only exercise so much before it just doesn’t want to anymore, the same is true for sleep. In fact if you understand your biological sleep systems, it may work the opposite way! There are two systems that create sleep for you. A drive like hunger that increases your sleepiness throughout the day and a biological clock telling your body when it is time to sleep. If you get in bed early your biological clock may not be ready for sleep! And then what happens? You just get annoyed. You sit there and think about how you are not sleeping, and it only gets worse. This is called a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Q: My Mind Won’t Shut Down At Night, Can That Really Be Changed?
A: This is the number one complaint I get in my clinic. So many people have this difficulty, but if you really think about it, it is kind of impossible. At some point, everyone will fall asleep. It is not like your sleep switch is suddenly broken and it will not allow your brain to sleep. But more than likely your thoughts come flooding in at night, when you are finally alone with your thoughts and someone is not asking you a question, or you are not involved with some activity. So Of course your mind is racing when you get in bed, which is just natural. You can and you will learn how to quiet your thoughts, and that is one of the main focuses of this program. You are going to learn several distraction, relaxation and meditation techniques, that will allow your mental activity to slow down a bit and allow your body to sleep. You are pretty normal.

Q: Is It True That A Nightcap Before Bed Will Help Me Relax?
A: There is some significant truth to this statement. Alcohol, in any form can make you feel relaxed, and even a little sleepy. But did you know that while it may make you feel tired, alcohol will keep you out of the deep stages of sleep? In fact without those deep stages not only will you wake up feeling un-refreshed, but you may disturb your sleep, waking up at night to go to the bathroom! Did you know that half of a hangover is dehydration, and the other half is sleep deprivation! So while this may have been something that you have done for many years, in fact it is not helping your sleep.
